Hackmanite diamond is a special type of crystal mined in the Hackmer area of New York State, USA. Its most distinctive feature is that it emits a sharp brilliance like a diamond even without being processed. Crystals that have been nurtured underground for hundreds of millions of years may have a "skin" (a shiny film) on the surface and may contain iridescent inclusions or black sand (magnetite) inside.
